Hello Julie,

Baking soda buffers the PH of the activated Miracle-Mineral-Supplement solution. This makes it less acidic, but it has no effect on the amount of chlorine dioxide in the solution.

When you raise the PH of the chlorous acid solution, it slows down the release of chlorine dioxide, but it does not neutralize it.
