No & No :) (imo) Re: Peel carrots before juicing?

Whether a fruit or vegetable is organic OR non-organic, I do not peel them. A wealth of nutrition is found in the skin, so I don't remove it.

Also, I do my best to ensure all natural microorganisms remain on the outside of produce - a quick rinse in water (or light scrubbing to remove dirt & debris) - is all I ever do. Occasionally (when I feel the need) I may add a splash of H202 to the rinse water.

Just fyi, having been a chain restaurant manager once-upon-a-lifetime-ago :::grin::: I *do* have a state certificate in food-born illness & food sanitation. On the other hand, my grandparents (one one side) were Iowa farm folks...so I spent many a joyous hour eating fruit from the tree/vine (and ground), and munching on veggies right out of the garden (most-times I hosed them off with the garden hose...but I'll admit, there was times I was too busy-to-bother. lol) 'Nothing like devouring a fresh ear of corn or tomatoes (or even a beet) to quench your thirst when you're outside playing on a scorching August day in Iowa.

Always remember: Pasteur was wrong - he admitted it on his deathbed - "germs" are NOT the cause of disease (any more than mosquitoes cause a pond to be stagnant). It's *because* the pond is stagnant, that there's an overgrowth of mosquitoes. If the pond is NOT stagnant, and our bodies are teeming with all the flora & microorganisms that are natural (and in a NATURAL balance), then invading pathogens don't stand a chance of multiplying.

So do your best to listen to your doctor within, and don't destroy any natural/vital microorganisms, or 'peel off' vitamin & minerals...unless you have a good reason for doing so.
