IUD problems versus Celiac Disease?

Hello all,

It has been a long time since I've been on this site, but I have some new information and thoughts.

First, a recap: I had my IUD for about 3 years, took it out myself about 5 months ago, and felt GREAT afterward - for about a week. I can tell you that my mood has been better since getting it out and I do not have the joint pain that I used to. However, the headaches, enlarged thyroid, GERD, muscle spasms, hair loss, weight gain, etc are all status quo.

I've been to numerous doctors, had an MRI, colonoscopy, tons of labwork etc to no avail. They say everything is "normal." Then, last Friday, I had an EGD with biopsies of my esophagus and celiac portion of my small intestine. My dear GI doc is looking for Eosinphilic Esophagitis and/or Celiac Disease. So, since I won't get the biopsy results for about a week, I came home and fired up the trusty internet.

I have included the link for a description of celiac disease. I know many of you are like me and have seen doctor after doctor to no avail, and it seems that no one can figure out what the heck is going on. Please take the time to look at this information. Celiac is very hard to diagnose and mimics many other diseases/disorders. The interesting thing is that it has A LOT of the same symptoms many of us are experiencing!

I hope this helps someone.
