Re: Increasing digestive fire

Since I just saw your post, and I have some experience with sluggish digestion, I thought I'd respond. One, when I do the raw diet, I tend to compensate for its lack of appeal by eating things I like, mainly nuts and nut butters and fruit, and olives. Now that I no longer embrace the raw diet, at least for me, I think those foods cause too much stagnation and acidity, and constipation. But, if you have a weak spleen, and low digestive "fire", then raw vegetables are hard to break down.

I think you are probably mainly too acidic, and that is why you feel little appetite. You need vegetables, but not raw ones. I tend to be too acidic also, because I usually lack discipline to eat right. Anyway, to get out of the state you're in, I would not eat vegetarian, but rather have some meat, at least fish or seafood. Raw rock shrimp is actually excellent, if you would like to stick to foods that have enzymes, to help digestion. It is probably much better to both eat fairly large meals and to eat close enough to sleeping, to keep your blood Sugar stabile and sleep better.

Currently, what I most adhere to is letting my body cleanse itself all day, then eating a large, paleo (no grains or dairy) meal in the late p.m. or eve. I believe that the logic of this approach "The Warrior Diet" is that the human body is meant to experience feast and famine, not to be stuffed full of food all day. We need long periods without food, and the food that we then eat, when truly hungry (a state modern humanity scarcely knows), we are able to enjoy without loads of sugar, salt, oils, etc.

So, perhaps trying that would help you.
