Re: Agent Orange Linked to Parkinson's, Heart Disease
And more recently, among other things, the use of depleted uranium tipped ordinance that are great at destroying things, but then soldiers in Gulf War I walked up and into the results of the wreckage and... well... think there were and are any ramifications from that?
I see a lot of it in the area I live, with something like 6 military installations, not the least of which being Ft. Carson and a lot of deployed, redeployed and returning soldiers who have massive PTSD. Soldiers coming back and killing their own citizens. We just had an extensive work published over several articles detailing PTSD and the military's very slow response to it. Being around military all my life, I was privy to people who did amazing things from WWII onward.
This Middle East stuff is different, and people are returning in very bad shape. More than we know. Spuds is spot on in her articulation of Aussie vets for instance, and a military system looking to wear them out in hopes they disappear. Her father having to claw for what is due him as a Vet is beyond appalling, for any government.
Very sad, and simultaneously angering. I see it all the time here. One gets large doses of reality by attending Iraq/Afghanistan memorial services, or talking with returning soldiers, or Vets overall. It ain't TV.
