Re: Health Care Reform & Health Care Jobs - opinions?
"I was talking to a friend who says Obama's plan is really just to offer cheaper insurance to people, but I'm assuming that insurance is not going to pay out as much for office visits and procedures"
Don't be fooled by Obama. Just talk to anyone who knows about how health care is run. Insurance reform is not the answer. Obama says he can cut costs without cutting service, but that won't happen. Obama (and probably his entire administration) is living in a pipe dream. They don't know any more about health care than they do about the automobile industry (they've already completely failed to manage that little tidbit of a problem)
Also, as a general rule, you usually get what you pay for. If Obama drives down insurance prices, I don't expect that rule to change. If you pay for less, you will get less. The only time you can cut costs and increase service is if you have an abundance of supply. Do you see doctors pouring out of hospitals because there is no room for them? I didn't think so.
The liberals will have you believe that the evil insurance comapanies are the reason health care is so expensive. This is a lie. Health care is so expensive because of the massive amounts of education and legal labyrinths that people have to go through before they can even BECOME doctors, much less practice medicine. If you want to reduce costs, get rid of that problem first.
