I had no idea where to post this but since I know that Beck deals with blood purification and the regulars on this forum are very tech savvy I figured I would put it here
UVB I, or ultraviolet blood irradiation, is a way of killing parasites, bacteria and other pathogens in the blood. basically you draw small amount of blood, expose it to a specific frequency of ultraviolet light (usually in the 250 nm range) then it is injected back into the body. This purified blood then acts as a sort of a an innoculant against bacteria and other pathogens in the bloodstream. That's the theory anyway

I have read briefly about several innovations in this technology that utilize sub lingual UVBI therapy. basically the patient places an ultraviolet light source under their tongue for 20 minutes to 30 minutes. During that time the blood passing underneath it becomes purified with the ultraviolet light. This is basically the same technology that is used to purify drinking water, only instead you are purify your bloodstream.
Small LED lights in the 254 nm range (this is the range that has been proven to kill pathogenic bacteria) can be bought for around $50.
My question is this -- do you think you could take those LED lights and use them in a therapeutic manner by shining them underneath your tongue?
What do you think the risks are? What harm might be done? anybody have any insight?
