"The Story/Truth" (as I know it)...Re: Vitalerbs or SuperFood?
Greeting RubyT -
'Sorry for the delay, not only am I WAY behind (and then got hit with phone & power outages), but I've also been doing a bit of research on Dr. Christopher's Vitalerbs.
Here's what I know regarding
Dr. Schulze s Original Superfood (vs. his new Superfood Plus):

And what folks have told you is correct - since Dr. Christopher's children took over his company, they have edited/altered/added to his words in all of his reprinted publications (leaving them to read as his own words - even when protocols & products are NOT those he devised or utilized)...AND they have changed from strictly organic herbs in his formulas, using cheap, highly toxic, overprocessed imported herbs (as are 95% of those on the market)...AND they have kow-towed to the Powers That Be (something he never did and would NEVER have done - as we know from the many times we was arrested & imprisoned) and actually CHANGED his formulas, removing some of THE most healing herbs because of pressure & threats from the PTB.
I always tell folks, I feel I've been called to find and say the truth, and that is my responsibility...it's certainly NOT my responsibility to tell people what to do with it (thank heaven)!
But on this issue, I have no problem stating 'my mind & heart'.I have studied the selfless and wondrous works of Dr. Christopher for over 5 years - and that his children would disrespect, dishonor and disregard their fathers sacrifice & legacy...for personal greed, wealth and comfort...is not only appalling, it's completely nauseating. I would NEVER give them a penny of my money (and I would CERTAINLY never put non-organic herbs in my body).
Regarding the research on the Vitalerbs. There are many things that David Christopher (his son) has added to his father's product line and protocols. One of them is basically a duplicate of IF#2, and another seems to be Vitalerbs. Here's a good time to add, that I **very much** believe that for in each new decade, our planet/environment/food becomes more and more toxic - hence our bodies become more and more compromised - hence it IS necessary to "add to" the strength, quality and intensity of the formulas & protocols of the great healers than have gone on before us (but I also believe that when we do that, we should not alter/edit the words & protocols of a great healer that has gone before us, and leave them standing as their words & protocols.
I believe David likely had good intentions when he added the equivalent of
Dr. Schulze s IF#2 (which is now labeled something like Quick Colon Part #2) to Dr. Christopher's product line. It appears David may have also formulated Vitalerbs, and added that as well. Here's why I think that:
I have an edited version of the book School of Natural Healing - in the formulas section it lists:
>>>57. "Vitamin and Mineral formula" - Nature balanced, whole food vitamin and mineral supplement. This combination of alfalfa, barley, and wheat grass (flash dried extract powder), dandelion, kelp, purple dulse, spirulina, Irish moss, rose hips, beet, nutritional yeast, cayenne, blue violet, oatstraw, carrot juice powder, and ginger is an organic source of vitamins and minerals that are easy to assimilate because they are whole foods. Source: Vitalerbs.<<<
BUT, to my knowledge "flash dried extract powders" AND "carrot juice powder" weren't even available when Dr. Christopher was alive. (???) So that triggered me to go to my ORIGINAL WORKS CD and start searching for this formula...and I can find absolutely no record of it (except from the commercial section that was added by the marketers of the CD...and in that little advertisement/blurb, it's called VitalHerbs). So, there is no record of Dr. Christopher actually using or recommending this formula to my knowledge...which is kind of what I thought I'd find, because I think
Dr. Schulze was the first person to ever formulate anything like 'Superfood' (and he formulated it, NOT to sell, but to use in his clinical practice).
Another thought - if Christopher's children based Vitalerbs on Schulzes original Superfood formula (likely, because that's what they did with their version of IF#2), then Vitalherbs is one-half nutritional yeast...the other half is a blend (in what proportion, we have NO idea) of FIFTEEN different ingredients (Schulzes is TEN). This matters. The reason it matters is that in each 2 Tablespoon dose, 1/2 is likely nutritional yeast, and the other half is a blend of herbs/foods. So in Dr. Schulzes version, in every 2T, one receives 1T of a blend of 10 ingredients...so that means we get 1/10th of one tablespoon of each ingredient (a weeny bit less than 1/3 of a teaspoon each). But in Vitalerbs, it's likely one gets only 1/15th tablespoons of each (one FIFTH of teaspoon).
Since there are two of the ingredients in the Vitalerbs that Dr. Christopher insisted we get daily any (carrots or carrot juice, cayenne) and at least one that many of us get regularly (ginger)...I'd much prefer getting the larger doses of a smaller amount of ingredients (as in the Superfood), and then customizing our diet for what we each need (if that makes sense).
As far as what we offer (Superfood Original or Superfood Special Blend), the Original is for those juice-fasting or on vegan diets. If one is still eating meat & dairy, there's no need for as much nutritional yeast (and a greater need for the other ingredients), so the Special Blend is "more better" for non-vegans.
Great question! :)
