RE:
juicing problems.
I got this huge lovely garden and a lot of it is kale. My friend loves me so much he planted loads of kale so I can juice to my heart's content until there's snow on the ground. Problem is - my kale has aphids on 'em. My prep and juice time is almost an hour, I swear. That's gonna get real old, real quick. Makes me reluctant to go juice and THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Currently, I washing some of the buggies off and pinching off some areas of the kale that are just a bit too much effort (teeny pinches, I'm still grateful for the rest of the leaf). I took Snakeater's advice (golden as always) and have been soaking it in a tbsp of Hydrogen Peroxide in a BIG bowl of cold water while I wash the rest of the veggies.
Still - it's too long. Today was about an hour till I had juice in my little hand.
Are aphids that bad for me? I mean - we been eatin' bugs on this floatin' star for a hot minute - so if I don't worry soooo much about all the little buggies (that are crawling, they ain't static) - can I cut this juice time down and perhaps get a bit of the extra protein from eating the teenies (lol) ????
Thanks guys!!
