Here is a continuation of my diary of treating the parasite Blastocystis Hominis with the ten days of triple Antibiotic therapy as recommended on badbugs.org

So days six to ten were pretty hellish. Although it felt like the parasite was dying, the side efect symptoms just got worse. I felt as if I was being sterilised from the inside and the reactions to the drugs were pretty strong.

My skin turned faintly yellow, most visibly on the hands and feet.

My poo was still bright orange and smells of nothing. Urine the colour of ginger ale despite drinking heaps of water.

I could not sleep more than a few hours at a time as my hands and feet were very hot then tingly then numb in cycles. Almost like the circulation is cut off.

Putting any pice of my body in the sun for 5 minutes resulted in bright red skin. This stuff must cause light sensitivity. There is a red line where my socks did not meet my trousers and I hung out the washing for ten minutes.

The taste in my mouth was so nasty I kept retching. It tastes like eating a rust bicycle, very metallic and all pervading.

Although having no appetite, eating seemed to help with the nausea.I caved and started eating bread and rice because I have lost so much weight.

Feeling very mentally slow, foggy, forgetful and very irritable. Just want peace and quiet and to sleep sleep sleep.

Now it is my second day off the drugs having finished the ten days. My hands and feet are still tingly but the metalic taste in my mouth has gone. I just want to sleep and feel quite cold.

However I do feel brighter and clearer and my stomach feels good. No gas at all, which is a novelty.

I am taking probiotic pills 3 times a day. Any other recommendations or repoulating gut flora would be appreciated.

I will write again in a few weeks with an update on whether or not it worked.
