--Natural Outdoor Bug Repellent--

Hi Ya'll,

Summer time brings Bugs that may pester folks who go outside?

Here was a post by Charly a couple of years ago about using Peppermint Oil mixed in Olive Oil and rubbing it on to Repel bugs:

I've heard that bugs hate peppermint.... or any kind of mint.

When I eat outside I place a stick of any kind of mint gum on my plate... (doublemint gum is good) flys and other critters stay away from my food.

When I camp I put a few drops of peppermint oil on a cotton ball and place it a small jar - remove the lid when you want the scent to be released, and place inside of my tent. It seems to keep bugs out.

To keep bugs off of me I add a couple of peppermint drops to olive oil, and rub it on my skin....

I love the way it smells!

I'm fairly ph balanced from my diet, and this may be helping as well, but I haven't had a bug bite for ages.

PS While camping I don't apply anything that is fragranced with anything but mint. Some bugs are attracted to perfumes in shampoos, and other personal care products.

My comment: I thought it was worth repeating!

Smile Tis your choice.
