Re: Lithium orotate another option
Hi, all!
Thanks to Diana100 for emailing me with a question abt low dose lithium that led me to this thread. I'll contribute here so that the info is accessible to others as well.
I have bipolar disorder, CFS, MCS, FMS and a few other health issues. Due to the MCS, have very atypical reactions to psych meds and cannot take them.
I have successfully managed my bipolar and related symptoms on my own for almost ten years using lithium orotate, amino acids, vitamins, caution regarding sudden changes in exposure to sunlight and a few other lifestyle issues as well as the ideas for general health found at the Ask Moreless forum here at Curezone.
Regarding the orotate form: It was recommended by several books that are readily available through interlibrary loan via USA public libraries on the topics of
Depression and addiction.
I started with pretty high doses of everything, and gradually reduced them as I got better. My highest lithium orotate dose was about 400 mg, while concurrently using several supplements with antidepressant effects. I currently take one 120 mg tablet a day. [Advanced Research, 1-800-222-7173] I also take 50 mg of 5HTP each day. Doses are first thing in morning.
Recently got tested and found that I was very low in Vit D. Taking extra of that has really helped further with mood stabilization, sleep, sound and light sensitivity.
Usta be, I was mainly way up or way down, and anything approaching normal was just a brief and tantalizing stop between those two extremes. Now, normal is a place that I am able to spend most of my time.
YAY!!! I was sure getting tired of the roller-coaster!!
Hope this helps!!!
