Can anyone help a 22 year old balding guy?

I've been losing my hair since I turned 20 and it's been really stressful specially being young still and going to Uni with all those other guys that have great hair styles.. it's really psychological and I've been depressed for 2 years now. I used to shave my head a lot and it worked a little but now the damage is worse and the bald pattern can be seen even if I shave... I'm going to include a pic so you can see the damage.

I was doing some research and from what I read it seems my only hope of gaining anything and not risking some medical problems was Regaine Minoxidil 5% Extra Strength so I bought a 6 Months starter pack but I'm already starting to think it was a waste of money and will be a waste of time and hope. What do you guys think? I was told Minoxidil only works for the crown though and not front bit, which is also very weak on my head.. this is so depressing, it's not fair. Any advice will be great.

Ps. Would it affect my front hairs if I sprayed/spread some of the Minoxidil on it? Because I don't want to make it even worse... ©†ƒ……•™¼‡_Original_Message_¾€š½ž¢«»¬ï°©
