Re: For Maiauetic...and EVERYONE (need yer help on sumpin' folks)

"These issues and situations ARE tough...physically, especially emotionally and sometimes even spiritually - and they are made tougher by any type of dependence upon the person with whom we conflict.  And when it's a parent - it can be even tougher.  I am a firm believer that our societal conditioning has changed for the worst (substantially) over the past century, and we have degraded quite harshly in the way we handle emotional issues & conflicts."

Yeah, it can be tough. I've been fortunate that my folks have been generally supportive of my efforts to get well. I've always been looking for the truth in things and have researched many topics pretty extensively, so I think they trust my judgement even when it comes to things like one's own health.

"We tend to prioritize "emotions & feelings" over "facts & action" (especially compared to those that lived during the earlier decades - particularly 'the Depression' era, and before)."

Definitely. Not only that, but we've become a society of vanity. Liposuctions, surgically implanted poisons to make breasts look bigger, gastric bypasses. Men are even getting implants to make it look like they have muscles. Everyday it gets more ridiculous. I saw a commercial on TV yesterday for a prescription pill that makes your eyelashes grow longer. People are willing to compromise health for something as minute as a few millimeters of eyelashes?

"Virtually all of us are surrounded with people that believe these lies (and many other lies)....and many of the people that love & care for us dearly believe these lies.  But the fact remains, these things ARE lies. "

That's true, they are lies, but sometimes circumstances happen where it seems to necessate them. Two years ago when my girlfriend was pregnant with my son, everything seemed all good until he stopped "kicking". We got it checked out and found out that my son had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck 2, almost 3, times. As a result, he had to be monitored several times a week for a few weeks until he was mature enough to be born and my girlfriend was given drugs to suppress the contractions when they came. If that cord tightened up, he would have been dead in a few seconds. That would have happened through natural birth, so he came out through C-section. I remember the cord still around his neck when they pulled him out. He turned out fine. That whole situation was unfortunate - the umbilical cord, the drugs, etc., but it did save his life. If we would have left it alone, he wouldn't be here today. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be, but he wasn't some "fetus" - he's a human being.

Then there are severe injuries from car accidents and such. Etc. Situations like this keep us in fear and make us want to keep a doctor near. Learning all this natural healing is great and moving in the right direction. We're taking back our power, like Bob Beck says. But sometimes it is hard to know what to do except go to the doctors, like in the case of ruptured appendix, ruptured aneurysm, detached retina, etc. Sadly, once they do their work on you, you usually have multiple secondary issues caused by the medical procedure. I suppose this is why preventative medicine/health is supreme. It's better not to let your health degrade that far.

But what if it did? By your own doing or by an accident or something? Are these people lost causes? I refuse to believe that. I remember reading this old post on another forum here where a guy was trying to do a healing protocol, but he couldn't colon cleanse completely because it seemed he had an obstruction or possibly a tumor blocking his intestines, so as a result hadn't had a bowel movement in a long time and was unable to keep food down, etc. The forum owner told him he should probably go to the doctor and get surgery for it, as that was the only thing that seemed viable. He also said that once you get surgery and all that, things aren't really natural anymore and he apologized. Man, that pissed me off. But what is he to do? Maybe he should go, then come back and continue the natural healing. But I don't like that answer.

Then again maybe that isn't that bad, because I have this belief (or maybe it's a delusion) that the body can regenerate from any harm done to it. Even regrow lost limbs. What fuels this belief is some miraculous things I've heard of happening to people. It would be nice to never have to go to the doctors again for anything. That's what I am shooting for. A lot of the old mystics and texts say that everything you need is within you. I tend to believe that is true and not just something that makes you feel all "tingly inside".

"The question is - no matter how 'near & dear' these people are to your heart & life- ARE you going to allow any person whose mentality is compromised at this level...to have an adverse effect on your health and prevent you from healing yourself safely and effectively?"

Great way to put it. That's exactly how it is.

Thanks for making a great post.
