Re: Hernia

I really feel for you sultanofswat. Honestly. Sincerely. You can read my testimony in the hernia forum; along with others. Take the Dr's advice on this one. This is a physical infrastructure problem; not one where you can have physical therapy or supplemental help. It can become a 911 situation rather quickly. I had a right inguinal hernia. While waiting for surgery, it kept descending into the groin. It took so long to get surgery scheduled that I used a hernia support. Just get it done.

My total cost was about $9000. I had to pay $6000 out of pocket due to insurance being $5000 deductible. Disgusting. Like you, I have never used insurance in my life until then. Not even house or auto insurance. Not since I moved away from home over 40 years ago.

I'm much more careful now. No lifting when tired, hot, and stupid.

Extraordinary pain for about 3 days after surgery. Took 20 minutes to lie down in bed. Took more than that, as well as courage, to get out of bed. ...even with the pain meds. Hopefully you have help around the house. Unlike me.
