+ EDIT/UNY Re: Tinctures VS. Capsules VS? Teas?

:::sigh::: EVERYbody wants the "easy way"...that's what we've been conditioned to expect - go to the doctor, take a pill or two, and *poof* a lifetime of unnatural living & eating will be remedied.

The most effective, most assimilated form of herbs is a tincture or very strong tea. EDIT - a strong tea is effective ONLY if all the plant constituents can come out into the water...and with many plants, water isn't 'strong enough' to do this. The very LEAST assimilated and effective way to ingest herbs is encapsulized.

>>>I know that capsules are easier for many people to take, and Dr.Christopher used capsules for that very reason.<<<

???

I'm pretty sure you'll find when studying the lifetime works of Dr. Christopher that he (like his mentors) used primarily fresh herbs, teas, syrups & tinctures...and that it wasn't until he started SELLING herbal preparations (after his last arrest, when he was prevented from ever practicing again), that he started selling/recommending capsules.  (I believe the LBB was likely always encapsulized, and perhaps a few select others).

As far as I know, he NEVER had the "manpower" to spend hundreds of hours monthly encapsulizing powdered herbs while he was in practice; and I'm almost positive that he sold the 'herbal tea equivalent' of most anything he encapsulized after he did start selling herbs commercially. ...until his children took over the company years after he died (changing many of his formulas, using non-organic & toxic imported herbs AND altering/amending his original writings to comply & kowtow to the Powers That Be).  I've always assumed the reason he didn't market all 'tinctures & syrups' may have something to do with the 'no alcohol' stance of the LDS church.

***I am NOT sure on this and have been trying to find this information for quite some time...but having heard/watched all available videos and read every publication he ever wrote, it is VERY seldom one ever hears him tell any story of what HE did in clinical practice, coupled with the word "capsules".  Yes, we see/hear it very occasionally (and other references to things like 'kelp tablets' etc), but by and large virtually all of the famous stories, examples & testimonies that HE told, were of the use of fresh herbs, teas, fomentations, compresses, syrups & tinctures.  I have never been able to find exactly when Dr. Christopher himself started a 'product line'...or exactly what HE offered.  What his shameful & disrespectful children have done to his legacy & products is appalling. ***

Back in the time when Dr. Christopher was alive and selling capsules (for whatever short time-span that was...possibly the mid 70's to his death in 1983???) our digestive tracts were in MUCH better shape.  It is VERY common nowadays (several posts just on this forum, I believe) of people seeing partially digested capsules/contents in their stools/bms.

It is ALWAYS better to ingest a strong tea or a tincture.  Tinctures (being alcohol based) absorb through the stomach into the bloodstream immediately and effectively.  The only time this is NOT desireable is when the herb is being used to heal or treat the digestive tract.

Here is a good explanation on the use of alcohol in herbal tinctures:
http://healingtools.tripod.com/alctinc.html

Following are some truths/comments from Dr. Schulze (from the SYL manual) - you'll notice, Dr. Schulze used/sold nothing but tinctures & teas (expect for his Intestinal Formulas) until recently.  Now he's started offering things in capsules (in one has the money to buy encapsulating machines, capsules are MUCH more profitable).  But as effective?...

SCHULZE: They could make a tea just of these particular ingredients.

On this formula, if they are going to make it a tea, about 25% of

the tea should be red clover and chaparral. About half and half between

them. The other 75% of the tea would be equal parts of all these other

herbs

Now the reason I've gone to liquid is because that's what used

to be used; like back in the Lloyd brother's days, they used all liquid

extracts. Their shelf life is 50 years; they are in your blood stream in 2

minutes. They are more concentrated because you are using alcohol and

water as an extraction. Plus, you can use things like garlic juice or blood

root sap in there, and again the Hoxsey tonic was liquid.

Then, everybody started going to capsules to where this is almost

considered normal. But it isn't normal, and it doesn't work.

But readers who want to could mix these herbs up in alcohol, and

they could make a tincture of it. All they would have to do is mix these

herbs up in that proportion that I gave earlier.

The reason one formula is a tea and the other a tincture is

because some of the chemicals in the herbs are water-soluble and could

come out in the tea better. Others could come out better in the tincture.

When you use the tea and tincture together, you end up with a fullspectrum

array of the chemicals in these plants.

Getting the herbal ingredients in this way is totally different to

getting kidney herbs in a capsule full of dry powder. According to Dr.

Schulze, when you're dealing with a capsule of dry powder, the volatile

oil content is probably very insignificant. If you are taking herbs in this

form, Dr. Schulze says he wouldn't expect anything to happen.

According to Dr. Schulze, Dr. Christopher carried fresh juniper

berries in his first-aid kit. That's how he got his cures. He had people

make teas and tonics. If you are getting your herb formulas in capsules,

I'm not surprised that you're still quite sick.

Tinctures last almost forever. Richard tasted some tinctures made in 1919 and they were so strong, they curled his toes. A tincture goes into your bloodstream in seconds.

Forget capsules of dried, ground-up herbs. The colon formula mentioned earlier is the

only one you should make or get in capsules. For everything else, make

fresh tea, or tincture the herbs at their peak.

Stop trusting your life to herb companies. Make your own

tinctures.

I can't tell you this loud enough or enough times.

Make your own tinctures. Make your own tinctures.

The worst, biggest, and stupidest mistake you can make is not to do your own

tinctures at home.

INTERVIEWER: Now, you've had results with juniper berries and kidney

problems in a day or two.. .yet, people have taken kidney formulas

for years and never got better.

SCHULZE: And I see people take some of these dried encapsulated

useless herbal products forever and still have to use antibiotics, because

they can't shake their kidney infection. And yet, given fresh herbs, they'd

be cured in days.

The order for most effectiveness is (to me): tinctures, strong teas, capsules.
