You can grow Bird Peppers with ease...Re: Uny, Red Savina Pepper?

African Bird Peppers are easy to grow AND the plants will live for years if you keep them in big pots and take them inside for the winter.

We knew a Jamaican lady who had a bunch of the plants in big pots in her back yard. She'd had them for years. I started some plants very easily, from her seeds a few years back. Lately, after losing those plants and seeds (we moved), we saw a Bird Pepper plant at Home Depot. $5, as I recall.

It now sits in the front herb garden, next to a post. In a larger pot. The thing has LOTS of tiny blossems and LOTS of pointing-upwards small "bird" peppers. This is the same or similar type that the South East Asians call a "mousesh*t pepper." Here in America, they are often sold and advertised as "ornamental" (many Americans think even Jalapenos are too hot to handle LOL).

Good for tincture and great to eat.

Hotter than the blazes.

Easy to grow.

Readily available.

Winters over in the house.

What more could you ask for?
