Flagyl: A Bit Rough on the Body!

I started Flagyl today--but a 2g dose. My ND only gave me a 5 day supply, which I felt wasn't enough, SO I went to the County STD clinic (which I had never been to) and had them run all the tests. Gave a story that I had been exposed to Trich (which is a parasite) and they had to treat me even though I obviously did NOT have it.

So they gave me the 2G of Flagyl in the office WITH NO FOOD! I said, "Hey, I'm supposed to take this WITH FOOD!" Nurse replies, "Yes, well, you better go eat something after you leave here!"

Anyway, the last few hours I have felt terribly! I have been napping for the past three hours. I have flu-like symptoms:

fever
exhaustion
body aches
tender lymph glands

Plus menstrual cramping and it is not my time! Perhaps that is from the rigorous examination I got for everything else which SHOULD come up negative? Though of course they said I had HIGH yeast infection! Surprise, surprise! They also are going to get to the bottom of my ongoing UTI/bladder infection and see just which med will be best for it--if these folks can't figure it out...I'm actually glad I went there. Everything, the visit, all your meds and tests, all for $15 - for everyone!

Surprisingly, I do not have any gastric symptoms which are common side effects for Flagyl and for me!

Has anyone else had a rough time with Flagyl? Ever take 2g at once? Will I see anything in the toilet? Tweet
