Re: Upper eyelid surgery
I had upper eyelid surgery one year and one month ago. The procedure is called "blepharoplasty", so if you come across this word it means "surgical fixation of the eyelids".
I have to say, it made quite a difference for me and my experience was good. I had very "hooded" eyelids, meaning a lot of fat over my eyes. I looked tired all the time, and it made me raise my eyebrows just to get a good field of vision!
The main reason I had the surgery was because of functionality rather than for looks. Raising my eyebrows all the time gave me constant tension headaches. Also, it was causing a permanent line in each side of my forehead. Am am only 32 years old, so I really wasn't keen on accellerating my forehead wrinkles!
I had my surgery done in the Dominican Republic and I am very happy with the cost and the outcome! The resulting scar is almost totally invisible. My surgeon made the incision in the natural crease of my eyelids, so even when I tell people I had it done and have them look real close, they still can't tell!
It was uncomfortable for about 3 days following the surgery. Not because pain really, just because I had to keep tape over the stitches. I felt kind of silly going around with tape on my eyes, but it is easy to hide behind sunglasses.
The bruising was very, very minimal. It was mostly just right above my eyes and looked like I had overdone it a little with some purple eyeliner. My mom kept saying, it looks like you have makeup on! There was some swelling, but I took Arnica Montana and that kept it to a minimum.
If you have any more questions or are interested in finding out more about getting cosmetic surgery in the Dominican Republic, I am writing an ebook about my experiences and would be happy to send you a copy! It should be done in about another week or so. Just write to me at JmrRos@netscape.net
Warmest Regards!
