How to +immune/serotonin/endorphins - Immune system in dialogue with brain
There is a video from a
Richard Schulze class that has been floating around here and there for a while, conducted some time during the early 90's. I think it was a three-day class, 8 hours each day, the class was filmed and eventually that film found its way into 7 or 8 video files posted to the web. I found those videos a couple years ago and have studied them a fair amount because they are so full of broad spectrum of information related to using herbal remedies. In addition to all of this course material, plus the many real-life anecdotes he shared, on occasion Schulze occasionally sprinkled in, when pertinent, brief references from the field of orthodox academia.
Out of this 24-hours' mass of information, there are a few select tidbits that were so profound that I can recall them off the top of my head.... I may not graps OR be able to explain in academic terms.....but these are commited to memory nonetheless. Top of the list is how Richard happened upon a prone woman on the beach one day, writhing in severe lower addominal pain (low, low....), which he remedied within minutes upon applying nothing more than a steaming hot burrito to her pelvic bone and a
quart of Haagen Dazs to her forehead....... but I digress way off topic :) Another one of these was the mention by Richard of a study done by Harvard wherein they reported the discovery that the immune system is effectively in dialog with the brain. The basics of this is, for every thought the brain produces, there are neuropeptides produced; chemcial messengers. (I'd have to go back and re-view the segment to be sure, but it sticks in my mind that Schulze was focusing on emotional thought, not intellectual). This study also claimed that all immune cell have a particular receptor site. Guess what this one receptor that every immune cell has is intended to receive? Those neuropeptides said to be generated by the brain each time it creates a thought!
