Re: EDIT..Re: Can This Supplement Cure Cancer?
Thanks grz,
as we all are probably aware CoQ10 is manufactured by the body itself but where this production declines with age (along with everything else)!!
The absorption of CoQ10 is variable and depends on the amount of lipids (fats) present in the food. It's absorption is lower on an empty stomach apparently, and better when taken with food of a high lipid content. Since absorption of CoQ10 is poor, a high quality supplement is required and at quite a high dose, and even then approx' 60% of it is excreted in the feces.
Achieving the optimal levels of nutrients is quite difficult, especially with todays nutrient-depleted foods, so I have always tried to achieve this by taking a wholefood supplement with the full spectrum of nutrients at the optimum levels or what are considered to be the optimum levels. This does not however take into account the bio-individuality of nutrients which differs from person to person: my current one, and which has been the very best of them is: INTRAMAX.
I didn't mention this in my original post because of advertising, but Dr Sears has come across a Japanese scientist who has formulated Ubiquinone in a highly absorbable form, requiring far less in terms of dosage but with a very high absorption capacity.
