If I remember right...
CoQ10, along with vitamin Ks and vitamin Es are quinones.
They all act as coenzymes for key enzymatic steps in energy production and are found in small amounts in a wide variety of foods, however they are found (the full range of quinone factors, not just CoQ10) to be particularly high in grass fed, free range, organ meats such as heart, liver and kidney, as well as beef, sardines, mackerel, peanuts... and animal fats such as butter from grass fed animals - and if cultured or fermented the quinone content in fats like CLO and raw, cultured butter can be pretty high.
Obviously different food sources will have a wide variation and ratio of quinones in them... some being higher or lower in any specific one.
Most people are deficient in more than one of them, the vitamin Ks and CoQ10 being just two most people are woefully short on these days...
We require vitamin Ks in order to utilize several minerals properly, including calcium, properly among other things.
Many people these days are born deficient, BECAUSE we have been eating the wrong types of foods and fats for more than a few generations now.
To address the parasite issue of another poster... parasites are a problem because of man's extremely poor, commercial animal husbandry practices.
In other words... this issue is entirely man made, and our fault.
If you find a good, responsible, organic, biodynamic source of animal products, where the animals have a good happy life living as they were intended to, parasite issues should be minimized to slim to none.
And if you keep a healthy terrain, they will not take up residence inside you and move on.
Parasites are an issue solely due to the CAFO's - confinement of animals, waste product, GMO, and grain feeding, along with pharmaceutical drug use, including antibiotics, on the livestock.
Interestingly as well... is that quinones are antiviral. This makes sense... many whole food, raw, *fats* and oils are antiviral against virus with a lipid coat.
You should look at the number of synthetic quinone patents there are, including those for pharmaceuticals, and for what purpose they are being patented.
The food industry stole these nutrients out of our foods over the last 100+ years or so, which in turn made humans all sick and dis-eased... and now these industries are selling it back to us in synthetic forms for the most part, which are woefully inadequate at correcting the real problem entirely.
Actually... you may want to take a look at all of the pharmaceutical drug patents that are based on one specific *supplement* or another.
Rather eye opening... and perhaps a foreshadowing of things to come.
The best thing for us to do is to fight hard for food freedom... real foods... raised and grown correctly and humanely whether those foods be plant or animal.
Our lives depend on it.
