Whatever we can share is likely to help others -- and the point you've made about laser potentially blistering skin is one that not enough people think about. The fact is that whatever is capable of *destroying* hair is likely to cause some damage skin, whether it be depilatory creams electrolyis, or laser. Sometimes the damage may be minimal -- but what causes minimal damage to skin is likely to be much less effective in destroying hair.

I hope your endocrinologist will be able to help you.

Strange, and I'm sure there are exceptions, but most men seem to accept it no problem. I'm sure there are men who wouldn't have had me because I shave, but really I can't say that it's spoiled my relationship with men at all. Maybe even a little bit the other way -- I think it may have helped it in one or two cases.

> It's just that *I* can't accept it.

I know where you're coming from. I was fortunate in coming to accept it at 14 -- or at least by 15 I'd just accepted that that's how it was with me.

I don't think makeup helps the problem -- better a shadow than the makeup.

I agree you shouldn't ignore PCOS, which is actually very common. I do hope that you get some real help in getting the PCOS under control.

I've been very fortunate in that though I've high levels of free testosterone and most of my life have had low estrogen levels, that's the extent of the "problem." Yes, it's affected how I *look*, but not my actual health. Which is part of the reason it hasn't posed a real problem for me.

I'm not sure about changing lots of things at once, but stopping eating Sugar and white bread can't do any harm and some people find that cutting out dairy is helpful.

Hope you find something that works and gets rid of at least some of the problems.

Don't let it demoralize you! I don't have too much of a problem yet with thinning hair, but I do have hair receding at the temples -- typical of what I'd expect to happen with high levels of testosterone. At present it's covered as I have long hair and usually wear it loose.

You know you've got sympathetic friends, at least.
