If you put Lugol's on your face (undiluted), will it still work if you don't cover it with plastic (syran wrap)?

If my face is still yellow in the morning I find that wetting my hands and rubbing some ascorbic acid crystals on my face removes the yellow immediately.

For removing scar tissue is it a waste of time to put Lugol's on your face and not cover it, or is it still effective?
