If you've got to shave once a week there's almost certainly a hormonal cause. That's heavy growth for a female, but light for a male. But still a long way short of the male norm of having to shave every day.
If you're seriously worried about it, then get your hormone balance medically checked.
If you're not going to do that, get a good electric shaver (men's style) and use it frequently. It's really no hassle.
Waxing, electrolysis and laser work well when there's no hormonal cause, but if the hormonal stimulation is there it'll just come back whatever.
