I began to think back about why the alkaline pH theory seemed so true to me when I began researching it last year. This may seem really stupid, but I'm gonna share it anyhow.

In general, the terms 'acid' and 'alkaline' seem to have negative and positive connotation, ACID being a 'bad thing' and ALKALINE being a 'good thing'. [Does GOOD and BAD cholesterol ring a bell? MORE HYPE!]

Anyhow, when I'd think of ACIDS, I'd think bad, caustic, burning, dissolving, painful, destructive, etc., .... so when I'm told repeatedly that acid is bad, it made sense to me since I already thought along those lines.

Same with alkaline. I think of something that is neutral, soothing, calming, healing, etc. So it wasn't much of a leap for me to believe the hype about it. Perhaps I'm not the only one? I mean, I bought the pH drops, did the drinks, at 'alkaline' foods & used the pH strips and tested urine & saliva morning and night. I told people how wonderful this was. I never stopped and really considered if what I was believing was true or not. Wow. Since it 'seemed' true, I thought it was true!

But as you have explained it, a light went on. God didn't make us WRONG! We are amazingly designed and every part has a function and purpose! It should have been obvious to me that both acid and alkaline have a purpose in our bodies and that they aren't 'bad' or 'good' but both are vital. And our bodies are so incredible, they will always strive for BALANCE.

I am glad I found this information out before I did anything really stupid and ended up worse off than I am now! I can't thank you enough, Hv, for steering me and others to the right direction and out of HYPELAND!
