Re: red clover tea

Actually hveragerthi, I was referring to your statement, "Red clover is a blood cleanser. Chaparral and hydrangea root are better though." Also that bitters are a liver cleanser.

If andrographis is the "king of the bitters", would it be successful in the situations which you have mentioned?

Yes, it can be used successfully as a bitter for cleansing.  At at the small amount you would need to stimulate the bitter receptors it would not cause blood thinning anyway.

I know they call it the king of bitters, but I have tasted a lot worse!!!  Cape aloe concentrate is bar far worse!!!!  And that is a taste you just cannot get rid of.  It takes close to an hour to go away, and food, drink, or gum does not get rid of the taste.  Picrorrhiza is next on my list followed by silk tassel, then andrographis.

I'm glad to know that it is a blood thinner. Thank you for that. I'm not concerned about fertility at my age.

I have used chaparrral externally and internally. Since I see that it is pretty powerful externally, I was worried about the same internally. However, I did try it; and noticed no visible change to bodily functions. I don't stay with anything unless I have noticeable reactions. I loose interest.

Chaparral works great, but it also depends on how you take it.  DON'T try to make a tea out of it.  It is very resinous and resins and water do not mix.  All that will happen is that the resin will separate and stick to the pan wall, and you will end up losing most of the beneficial properties.  Not to mention that it really stinks up the house.  I always use powdered chaparral mixed with synergistic herbs, which also helps prevent the chaparral from clumping in to a big resin ball when you go to swallow it, or when the capsule opens up.
