Re: The Truth About Sunlight
Hello Luella,
Million times thanks.
I have a few problems collected over the years, but this appears to be one of them. I have read the Vitamin D deficiency syndrom and it fits like a glove to my symptoms, so far relatively mild. I said relatively.
I am going to test it out as I haver rather pronounced leg muscle problems and see how it goes with this one.
I shall report back in lets say a month?
To press the issue some more:
When I was a preschool kid, that is roughly 50 years ago, the communist establishment force fed us with fish oil (which I have loved by the way contrary to everyone else) and the sunscreen of the day was just oil.
I have observed during the following years that:
1) The ditch diggers (manual pick and shovel) were by far the best tanned people around. They were exposed to full sun, down to their waist, 8 hours a day, 6 days a week, from the early spring to late fall. They used no suntan lotion save for their own sweat.
2) The best suntan lotion devised by the common Joe Blows were any cooking oils, which did better job than any commercial lotions of the time, which were mostly cooking oils spiked with artificial coloring and perfumes.
3) Yet, I have never caught any "intelligence" between may be 1965 and 1980, that skin cancer would be common, never mind epidemic. The skin cancer "epidemic" came as a big news to me when I came to Canada.
4) Keeping up with a healthy dose of common sense, I have tried sunscreen and I have tossed it very far, after I have realized how aggressive the junk is. Giving it a bit of a research and thought, I have realized that the skin cancer epidemic has started more or less with the use of sunscreens.
5) I have been exposed to sun rather heavily through out the springs, summers and falls since I was a small kid till I have emigrated in 1980 working from no see to no see.
I have never really looked into the health issues till now, when my past "sins" are suddenly catching up with my body. So I am looking now and rather intensely.
Again, thank you and Tony for the wealth of information you make publicly available.
With kind regards, Slavek
