Metal + Clay = Big No...No !?!

I always wonder about this one. I read multiple references regarding about not to touch the clay with metal. I'm not sure if that's over-killed... I just err on the side of caution and avoided all metal contact. It's actually a lot easier and less messy to let the clay hydrate itself than using a blender. You just have to be patient and let the clay do its job...
