Does America Need Tort Reform

Corporate America claims lawsuits are ruining our health care
programs, driving-up consumer prices and stifling the incentives to
take risks among corporate leaders. (Remember the spilt hot coffee, the
large settlements against brokerages, the I "ate too many Big Macs"
lawsuit.)

Lawyers claim that, without fear of court actions, Corporate America
would soon be out of control...Medical malpractice, unsafe and faulty
products, monopolies and price fixing.
