I too have come alive with iodine. I'm 44 and was very sick, for years.

I'm going to read your friend's story; I'm especially interested how she is replacing her thyroid hormones these days...

I have read the older you are, the longer it takes to become saturated, many more months than originally thought. I think the earlier estimates were around 12 months at 50 units; I think they are now saying that us 'oldies' may need to supplement for around 3 years to get up to where we need to be. Younger people are reaching saturation much earlier. Also, once we are saturated I'm thinking we probably need longer time for therapeutic benefits and then an amount comparable to the japanese to keep us healthy and tumour free.
