I think that's well known but theres a difference between the small amounts used as supplementation and overdosing.
The way Iodine is toxic is if it causes oxidative stress, and that depends on who takes it and in what form.
If it irritates you skin or your stomach then you have a lower tolernace to oxidation in those areas, but with continued use your body will produce more antoxidants to reduce it to iodide. so you should simply not take more Iodine in an unreduced form than you can tolerate Tweet
