I was an Alcoholic around the clock, I cheated on my then wife, I did illegal drugs, I lost my kids in a divorce and hurt them and their mother (though not physically. Emotional abuse is just as horrible). Yet that was my past.

I changed. I have been alcohol/drug free for 6 years. I love my new wife and child and cherish them like a precious gift. I am one hundred percent different. Changed and there is no turning back. Thank you Jesus. Religion didn't work for me. I needed the real thing.
