It could be the thyroid, even if your level is good. My hair started growing like a weed and getting thicker after I started armour thyroid and then all of sudden my hair is falling out in handfulls and getting dry too. Maybe the Free T4 Or Free T3 or thyroid antibodys are off. I cant get my Dr to check for these levels. Not too many Dr.s know to check it for more accurate levels.
