juicing without a juicer question

I don't have a juicer so for right now i bought v-8 juice and 100 percent apple juice. Now is there anything else i should be doing and does anyone recommend a good juicer thats not all that expensive. I am trying to get healthy and dont know how to go about it. any information would be helpful
