Oil of Oregano for Sinus infection in toddler

Dr. Mom,

My 4 year old son suffers from horrible chronic sinusitis. Modern medicine has delved him super antibiotics that only "mask" the symptoms for two to four weeks and then he is stuffy and full of mucous. He was hospitalized in February with severe infection of the Sphenoid, Ethmoid, and Maxillary sinus. He had a fever of 104 for two weeks while on antibiotics and steroids. The doctors told me it could have easily turned into deadly encephalitis.

I have read many things about oil of oregano and have some in my medicine cabinet. I was told by the company to give him one drop orally per day and to rub some on his feet at night.

I would like to know if you think Oil of Oregano is worth a try or if there is another herbal/homeopathic remedy that I should try instead. Your input is greatly appreciated!
