Re: bad reaction after enemas
Hi, my understanding of reverse osmosis water is that electrolytic salts such as Sodium, Potassium etc are removed by that process. Is that the case with the system you are using?
If so, that is not the ideal solution for enemas used on frequent basis (more than a few times a month). The enema solution should be what is called "isotonic", meaning neutral, or in other words, introduction of an isotonic solution into the colon is neither absorbed into the body, nor does it draw water out of the body.
To insure an isotonic solution for a cleansing enema, mix one teaspoon of
Sea Salt (or non-iodized
table salt ) to each pint of water, at 103 degrees F at preparation time.
You don't have to add salt for a coffee enema. A cleansing enema following a
coffee enema in my opinion is optional. But I do encourage a cleansing enema before the
coffee enema to cleanse the transverse and descending colon of loose waste matter and to improve the effectiveness of the coffee solution.
As an end result you should feel refreshed after your enemas. If you are presently undergoing a healing crisis, that should pass before too long. If not, something is wrong and you need to follow up on it with a health care professional, preferably a naturopathic physician.
Wishing you the best of natural health,
Valerie
