Re: Trying again after a year of research
Hey there Brandon,
this:
"I have decided to fast to completion and embrace a healthy lifestyle that is based on the work of Shelton, Jensen and others"...
sounds like a great plan.
As to the mystery of why you are probably not losing weight,
"Prednisone causes sodium retention and potassium loss which may lead to fluid retention,...."
from:
http://www.gihealth.com/html/education/drugs/prednisone.html
Since most of the weight we would lose in a fast, especially in the first 3 days revolves around water loss (which revolves around sodium loss), the prednisone seems to be the reason you are not losing any.
I expect you are still getting most of the detox benefits though as you wean yourself off of it.
Rheumatoid Arthritis :
(i borrowed this from waterbug)
In Fasting and Eating for Health, by Furhman he talks a lot about treating
Rheumatoid Arthritis with fasting and eating, on pages 152-158.
He says " A supervised fast is the most effective way the individual with
Rheumatoid Arthritis can quickly eliminate pain and stop the degeneration of the body and joints caused by the attack of the immune system."
As well, you might consider doing some research on "apple cider vinegar" as a folk remedy for rheumatoid
Arthritis that has quite a reputation for success.
