Re: Has anybody been on Nystatin and Cortef?

Yes. Everyone is so different. In my particular case, I am in stage 3 of adrenal fatigue. I am currantly seeing a doctor in Ft. Worth Tx, at the Chronic Fatigue Clinic, instituted by Jacob Tietelbaum. I've been on just vitamin supplimental protocal for the past 10 months and not getting any better. I was also having low blood Sugar attacks and symptoms over and over again...putting even more stress on my already depleted body. And yes, being hypoglycemic to begin with this set the stage for adrenal fatigue. I've been eating 100% faithfully for the past 10 months too, with emphasis on lean protein, fresh vegetables, and minimal fresh fruit and whole grains and good fats. Since starting on natural hydorcortisone and licorice extract 2 months ago....I have felt 20-30% better. The little extra help with the cortisone has helped to take a lot of stress off my adrenals and now they are begining to heal. I take 5 mg. hydrocortisone in the morning, 3mg. at lunch and 2.5 mg. in late afternoon. I take 1/4 tsp. of solid licorice extract syrup twice a day, as it extends the half life of cortisol. I go in for my next appt. at the clinic in 2 weeks. From than, we will determine how long I will be on this and at what point to start a slow weaning off the hydrocortisone. Anyway, in my case the physiological doses of hydrocortisone supplimentation has relieved a lot of stress off my adrenals which were not healing well, because they were not producting much of ANY CORTISONE. Thay is why even when eating often and the right foods, I was still having low blood Sugar attacks. Low cortisol means low blood sugar. High cortisol means higher blood Sugar levels. That's what the doctor said. Also, with 3rd stage adrenal fatigue, vitamin supplimentation will have to be addressed at a LOW and SLOW rate.
It will take another years I'm sure to gain some normalacy.
I also take a few days off every two weeks from all suppliments to give my body a rest from these too and so I don't develope a tolerance to them. ( I also don't take the same vitamins every day and ...I alternate, so my body does not build up a tolerance to these either. The same can go with foods. Eating the same things day in and dayout, you can become allergic to it. Variety is best, is best, based on my own personal experience.
