Re: Has anybody been on Nystatin and Cortef?
You have to do the research for a doctor.
Many of them will talk to you on the phone, but they will not prescribe you medicine from a far. Not a matter so much, you can get meds on the net if you need pharmaceuticals.
Not sure where you live, but I had the same problem finding a doctor. I had to fly to the UK this last week and have a STRANGER give me medicine I need.

I would NOT advise self prescribing, unless you do not mind making yourself really sick!
Funny how the last user is so against Cortef when some of the best doctors in the world suggest it..but they have to be used in VERY small amounts. Never should people be going over 20mg a day, unless the doctor says, and those cases are rare. And they have to build up to it.
I do not believe that someone could be using a tube to have a bowel movement on a low dose of cortef.
In some cases cortico steroids are totally necessary, and I do not believe that they should be discredited like in the last post. When used proeprly they seem to create miracles for people, when used in the proper method.
There is a very clear warning in the bottle of cortef that says it should not be used with fungal infections. So, people should heed that warning.
My doctor has me on 2.5 mg a day of cortef. 2.5 mg only! In 3 days, my irrgeular heart beat has improved and I will work my way up to 5! That is only enough to supply the body with the right amount of cortisol until I get used to it, that without, my body would be progressing toward a certain death within a few months. Most doctors are giving out GIGANTIC doses, which will certainly cause harm.
The point is, get a real good integrative M.D. who knows about adrenal fatigue and other conditions and you will be fine. In some advanced and chronically ill cases, hydrocortisone is necessary.
