how about a modified woodworking vise?

there are other things as well...

If you have professional strong sturdy kitchen sieves or colanders... perhaps a press made from these...

Something similar to an old style laundry ringer... or a mop ringer.

OR... how about running the pressed herbal mash, after primary draining\pressing through a sieve and unbleached muslin sack, through a single or double auger juicer?

That would work as good as any press I would imagine.

Now you're talking.

Use what you got...
