I just took ox bile for about a month. I discovered that if I consumed it too soon before eating the fatty part of a meal, I became unreasonably grouchy. Maybe it was just a glitch in my particular metabolism. However, I decided to discontinue the ox bile and focus instead on consuming healthy fats in moderation, more fish and chicken, and reducing beef to just a few times a month. I don't eat pork, sheep, processed meat, or cheese any more. I tried to go vegetarian but missed meat too much. I could never go vegan for more than a few days.

I think ox bile might be helpful for some people, but it was too strong for my system if the timing was off.

How about you? Do you still take ox bile? Did you notice similar symptoms?

I'm fascinated by the interplay of emotions and biochemistry. I don't believe that one causes unidirectional effects in the other, but each affects the other interactively. It seems circular, but I think a better term might be interplay or interaction. I believe there is a continuum between what we recognize as physical or measurable things, and intangible things such as emotion. From my experiences with ox bile and wild mood swings during and following the first 20 or so liver flushes, the liver is clearly connected with anger and bitterness.

An improvement I didn't mention in my earlier posting is that I used to be moody, but am rarely moody anymore. What a relief!
