Jim Humble claims that chlorine dioxide doesn't destroy all bacteria. However, he has never been able to prove this, and all of my testing, and the testing done in industry, indicates that it kills all bacteria. The key is that you need a certain concentration of chlorine dioxide in contact with the bacteria for a certain amount of time.
It is true that different strains of bacteria are killed off by different concentrations of chlorine dioxide, but that hardly makes it "selective."
