--answer--No Work Gardening--

Hi refreshed,

Your question: One way I have read about is using layers of newpaper on the ground and laying out potatoes on top of it and then cover them with layers of hay through out the summer. I guess you could just use the mulch and no newspaper.

edit: mulch feeds...newspaper does what? good...bad?

Answer: We must always keep in mind what Soil Life likes to eat if we are to do the Best job?

Newspaper has ink etc that may not be a Good Diet for Soil Life?

Plant materials will break down and feeds Soil Life, thus the reason for using Mulch that feeds Soil Life !

Cause and Effect !

Smile Tis your choice.
