Re: Eating meat is fine

This comment of mine (Chrisb1).............
"It is significant that carnivores will not (by choice) target other carnivores as a source of food, but mainly plant-eating animals, as they know instinctively that this is the correct source of their own nutrition."
Your own comment Brucester in answer to the above..............
"Not true. This behaviour is just amongst larger land based mammals. However, the larger percentage of life is in the ocean. The food chain in the ocean starts with the sun which is converted by plants which is then eaten by plant eating speciece in the sea, however the top predators eat predator fish below them. Humans aim for predator meat eating fish because vegetarian fish taste like crap".
My response to your answer demonstrating that you are incorrect..............
The Ocean food-chain in chronological order...........
"#1. Phytoplankton: These are the single-celled marine PLANTS that live on the sunlit upper layers of the ocean, the "euphotic zone". Phytoplankton include dinoflagellates, coccolithophores and diatoms. The phytoplankton are known as the primary producers of food because they use solar energy to convert carbon dioxide and the other nutrients into carbohydrates that are used by the marine creatures. NINETY FIVE PER CENT OF THE PRIMARY FOOD IS DERIVED FROM THIS PHYTOPLANKTON......WHICH ARE SINGLE-CELLED MARINE PLANTS.
#2. Zooplankton: The small floating animals known as zooplankton eat the phytoplankton. Shrimp, copepods, jellyfish, mollusc are some of the examples of zooplankton. The larger zooplankton eat the smaller zooplankton.
#3. Small Bait Fish: Examples of small bait fishes include sardines, crabs, lobsters and herrings. These fishes eat zooplankton and the larger fishes of the ocean in turn eat them.
#4. Large Fish: Shark, sword fish, tuna and octopus are examples of large fishes. The larger fishes feed on smaller fishes.
#5. Predators: The predators of the ocean include whales, sharks, killer whales and so on. The predators form the fourth layer of the ocean food chain. The predators during their feeding season feed not only on the larger fishes, but also on the members of their species or groups.
Conclusion?
The beginning of the food-chain in the ocean is 95% plant-derived.

Your comment again Brucester...............
"Insects also eat other predators and so do birds".
My response.................
A."Most insects will feed on a variety of foodstuffs during their lifecycle, but many will feed directly on PLANT MATERIAL at some stage.
The majority of insects need one or more FOOD PLANTS as larvae, and NECTAR from PLANTS as adults. The wider the range of PLANTS available, the wider the range will be of insects that inhabit your garden. A wider range of insects in your garden will attract a greater range of visiting birds to feed on them.
So the beginning of the food chain is from plants.

Your comment again Brucester..........
"You are limiting nature to a tiny subset of large land based mammals".
A. No. I am not (see above).
Your comment Brucester...........
"Most experts believe that the only reason the human brain became large and intelligent is when humans began eating meat".
A. I would tend to agree with you on this one (did I disagree?) as I now believe humans are designed to be omnivorous. Dietary quality IS correlated with brain size. Foley and Lee first considered brain size vs. primate feeding strategies, and note that folivorous diets (leaves) are correlated with smaller brains, while FRUIT and animal foods (insects, meat) are correlated with larger brains.
BUT, try this experiment re' the importance of meat......
Live on meat exclusively for several months and let us know how you feel; then live on a vegetarian plant-based diet exclusively for the same time-frame and report back!!!!

Your comment Brucester.........
"Vegetarianism is misguided, fish oil and red meat makes you smarter and healthier. Plants are a good source of fibre and micronutrients but lets not get carried away cutting out food groups in favour of some super group".
A. Vegetarianism MAY be slightly misguided but DOES form the BASIS of the Human diet with the addition of the Omega 3's such as DHA and EPA which I believe to be essential for human health.
However, only grass-fed beef is recommended, as most red meat has been demonstrated to be carcinogenic, especially processed meats.
Your comment.............
"And lets also not get carried away with a couple of moderators ganging up on anyone that speaks out about nutritarian brainwashing that is happening here".
A. A plant-based, nutrient-dense, (Nutritarian) or high-water-content raw diet, has been shown to reverse disease and cleanse the body of toxins over time. This is to be recommended in the relative short-term to achieve this, but in the long-term (and in a state of wellness) the addition of fish and meats is probably the ideal diet for man.
This should therefore be of interest to anyone considering a
Water Fast who wishes to adopt a
healthy Diet post-fast.
BTW, meat of any kind is much harder to digest and break-down because of its concentrated nature: this taxes the vital powers of the body at a time when all of the bodily energies are needed in the recovery of health.
I must admit that you do have a way with words......"nutritarian brainwashing": which resembles the "bull-in-a-china-shop-approach".
No one is forcing you to read the "nutritarian" posts at all, unless you have masochistic tendencies, and by all accounts, that does seem to be the case.
In addition, if it satisfies and appeases your sense of "belligerence" against these posts within the WFSF then I shall have a chat with the other mods on that forum to see if we are willing to move those threads to the Diet and Nutrition Support Forum.
I can't be more fair than that.......can I?
