Actually...Re: [EDIT] Dis-ability

I already AM "walking without that walker." :-)

I still have it for when I have to go anywhere in public alone for one reason: one of my biggest challenges is that the muscles in my "hip girdle" are weak. All of us balance our upper bodies on top of our lower bodies with the muscles in our lower backs and hip girdles. My upper body balances rather precariously on top of my hips. When the wind blows or gusts, I can get knocked off balance and fall.

Usually I have one of my awesome children with me when I go out, and I just use one of their arms for balance. I never need any kind of assistance in my house.

Uny asked me to write a post comparing what I was able to do before beginning the Incurables Program and what I am able to do now. If I can find the time I will. What I can say now is that my body feels more fluid and flexible, and I am constantly surprising myself at what I am able to do. They are small accomplishments to the fully abled person, but to the MD "patient," they are magnanimous.

I don't want you to think I am some little, shriveled granny hobbling around pushing a walker. lol That's hardly the case.

Thank you for your kind words. :-)

Hugs,

Wings
