any suggestions for my acute pancreatitus
hello, im a 22 year old male, and during the past 6 months ive had 3 different pancreatitus attacks. ive always been a healthy, and never really been sick up until recently. im not really a drinker, i would have a few drinks here and there before, i try and eat healthy, and no one in my family has had it before, but diabetes does run in my family. i dont believe i have gallstones, cuz if i did i think i would feel it. since ive been getting these attacks ive had to take a medical leave from work.
when i had my first attack i went to the hospital and they told me all i had was a stomach virus and sent me home without any meds, or any info that could help. when it happened again they told me i had pancreatitus (which scared me since ive never really been sick) they took a ct scan and some blood tests, they gave me an iv, and i guess since it wasnt real bad they sent me home and told me to relax for a few days. this time they gave me some pain killers and told me to relax and not eat for a few days, very little information about what it was and what i should do, so i went to the internet.
within less then a month after i had another attack, i decided not to go to the hospital and try and wait it out. its been about two weeks now and its gotten a little bit better, i still have pain in my stomach a few times a day, eating any food is like a 50-50 chance of it coming back up. my back and my shoulders almost constantly hurt, and i havent had a normal night of sleep in as long as i can remember. there are days when i go without eating just because of the pain. ive lost about 10- 15
pounds so far.
i just wanna ask if there is something i could try or do that might help, would an acid reducer help? or any suggestions please
