Re: Molybdenum and Neurotoxins with Lymes

I had light bulbs going off when I started getting this too. I've just been having this same conversation with a woman that also has Lyme's (and EBV) on the Liver Flush Forum . Here's that thread. She actually just called the Jernigan guy about the neurotoxin herbs and you can read what he told her. He actually told her L-Ornithine too, because of her liver not working well. I haven't tried the homeopathic herbs he has.

Having a reaction to Glutamine (zombie, head stuff), 3x, and figuring out what it was that was causing it--then reading this in the Cutler book, started putting puzzle pieces together for me:

PG 154
>>>Glutamine should not be taken by those who have elevated blood ammonia. Those with notable liver problems should ask their physician about the likelihood they have elevated blood ammonia before taking it.<<<

PG 97:
>>>If you feel bad after taking glutamine or creatine you may have problems with the bacteria and yeast in your intestines making too much ammonia.<<<

It was a bunch of light bulbs for me too, because then Newport told me this again, and this time I got what he was saying..he had gone through the ammonia/liver/brain issues with his father and the benzo drugs:

L-Ornithine/L-Aspartate for ammonia.

>>As for Ammonia, Zoster is the largest cause so if you take Arginine you double your problem.

If you go back to some old posts you see that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hepatic_encephalopathy

was a big issue due to past use of Benzos.

At the bottom of that WIKI page you get a hint that the use of L-ornithine-L-aspartate stimulate the urea cycle. We used Mag+Pot Asparates and ornithine with success.>>

Then doing further research and finding the Lyme/ammonia information---this has even more info than the first link, from the same person. It also talks about the glutamine/ammonia (and moly with Lyme's and candida neurotoxins)

http://www.mdjunction.com/forums/lyme-disease-support-forums/medicine-treatme...

Plus this for more on moly/neurotoxins, and candida which also goes with all of this:

A collection of ammonia info:

//www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1371439

And what it all points to--is the liver. Ornithine is needed for the liver to convert the ammonia into urea for it to be eliminated through the kidneys. Aspartate is needed for the ammonia/glutamine in the brain.

Studies done on Ornithine/Aspartate:

You can get the Ornithine/Aspartate together in one product, but it's around $60 a bottle.

http://www.allergyresearchgroup.com/L-Ornithine-L-Aspartate-3.5-oz.-100-grams...

OR, you can get the L-Ornithine by itself (no arginine, especially with EBV, or any herpes family virus)
and the Potassium/Magnesium Aspartate (which has L-Aspartic acid as the carrier, or the L-Aspartic acid powder is available by itself from http://www.iherb.com

Newport says the potassium/mag aspartate also chelates thallium.
