Ok, thanks. They did not find gallstones, just a dysfunctional gallbladder. Any ideas on how to help the gallbladder instead of removing it?
Increase your fiber intake, this will go a long way to helping. Digestive bitters also do wonders, but they need to hit your tongue to work. Capsules do not work. The bitters have to hit the bitter receptors on the back of the tongue in order to stimulate the vagus nerve. This will get the gallbladder moving and will increase bile secretion to help keep the cholesterol in solution. You only need small amounts of bitters, just enough to taste them. And drink a lot of water throughout the day when using them since this will also flush the liver. And finally I recommend lecithin granules (not liquid or softgels) 1 tablespoon 3 times daily sprinkled on your food. Lecithin is the component of bile that makes it an emulsifier.
