Who need studies? Can Gallstones exit gallbladder?

Who need studies?

The real question is:

"Can some Gallstones exit gallbladder and move to intestines?"

The answer to this question is: Yes.
Some gallstones, those that have smallest diameter SMALLER then the smallest diameter of the bile ducts (including but not limiting to cystic duct & sphincter of oddi), those Gallstones can exit gallbladder.

"How do we know that Gallstones can exit gallbladder?"

"Can all gallstones exit gallbladder and move to intestines?"

The answer to this question is: No.

Some gallstones, those that have smallest diameter LARGER then the smallest diameter of the bile ducts (including but not limiting to cystic duct & sphincter of oddi), those gallstones can not exit gallbladder.

"What is the smallest diameter of the bile ducts?"

The size of bile ducts can be different from person to person. Cystic duct can have a diameter from 2mm to 1 cm or even larger in some rare cases. Sphincter of oddi can have a diameter from 2mm to 1 cm or even larger in some rare cases. So, depending on the size of your bile ducts, you may or may not be able to get ALL of your stones out.

"Is there any point in doing a Liver Flush if you have gallstones larger then 1cm?"

There could be. Liver Flush may prevent bile stagnation. Bile stagnation may result in growth of your gallstones.
Liver Flush may prevent growth of your gallstones.

If you are suffering form gallstone attacks, liver flush may be the cure.
In many people attacks stop after one or several flushes.

When talking about the diameter of the bile ducts, I am referring to the bile ducts stretched to the maximum.

Bile ducts may be flexible and stretchable, or may be inflexible. It is all relative.
